Moppet Togs Getting National Attention

After several years of really hard work and lots over very late nights, it is really exciting and rewarding to see that Moppet Togs is starting to get some national press coverage. Following is one of the Moppet Togs Spring 2008 Sale Press Releases that is beginning to get picked up by some well know Internet news sites and Bloggers.

Boise Children's Consignment Sale April 10-12, 2008

Moppet Togs, Boise's Premier Children's Consignment Sale, will be open to the public from Thursday April 10 through Saturday April 22, 2008 at the same location near the Boise Town Square Mall.

Boise, ID, April 08, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Moppet Togs, Boise Idaho's premiere children's consignment sale, announced today that it will be holding its Spring 2008 sale from Thursday, April 10, 2008 to Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 8001 West Fairview Avenue in Boise, Idaho near the corner of Fairview and Milwaukee. The company has indicated that doors will be open to the public on Thursday and Friday from 9:00 am until 7:00 pm and on Saturday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm."We had a record turn out at our fall 2007 sale due in part to drive by traffic at this location near the intersection of Fairview and Milwaukee," states Karie Skamser, co-founder and partner with Moppet Togs. "Not only is location near the Boise Town Square Mall, it is also near one of the busiest intersections in the state. Now that our shoppers know where we are located, we expect an even higher turnout at our upcoming sale in April 2008," continues Mrs. Skamser.

Moppet Togs held its first sale in the fall of 2005 and has been holding a spring and fall sale each year ever since. Open to the public for only three (3) days, the partnership reports that the Moppet Togs sales are growing exponentially and as such, they are continually having to secure larger locations and employ more workers and volunteers."We started Moppet Togs back in 2005 because we were tired of garage sales and wanted to offer the Treasure Valley market a venue to buy and sell gently used boutique and name brand children's clothes such as Gymboree, MiniBoden, Old Navy, The Children's Place and Gap, toys, furniture and accessories at reasonable prices," states Mrs. Skamser. "Starting with our first sale, we have quickly grown into a much bigger business than we had ever imagined. We had over 250 Consignors at our Fall 2007 sale with more than 15,000 items and 5,000 shoppers over the three day sale," continues Mrs. Skamser.

The Company reports that it has automated its entire business with an online inventory control system that enables shoppers to enter and price all of their items over the Internet in the privacy and comfort of their own homes. Workers then print bar-coded price tags at a predefined drop off location and attach the tags to the items when consignors drop them off.

The Company further reports that checkout is also automated through an integrated online POS system that supports barcode readers and real-time inventory control. Further, Moppet Togs has an integrated online accounting system that enables them to report sales to its consignors at the end of every sale day and have consignor payments ready within several days after the sale closes.Moppet Togs also utilized advanced Internet marketing and communications technology as it relies on a sophisticated Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to continuously update its Consignors and invite the public to its sales.

The Company reports that it expects to send out over 20,000 emails in connection with the Spring 2008 sale."The Moppet Togs system is very professional, convenient and easy to use," states Karen Green, one of Moppet Togs premiere consignors. "I have consigned with other sales and it has always been a real hassle to create my own price tags and then wait for weeks to get paid for the items that were sold. I have shopped some of the other sales and checkout is a real nightmare waiting for someone to add up your items manually and hoping that they don't make a mistake," continues Mrs. Green. "Basically, I am done with the other sales. I plan to put all of my consignment items in the Moppet Togs sale from now on and tell all of my friends how easy it is to both consign and shop. Moppet Togs has the largest selection of Gymboree, new and used, compared to any other sale, at bargain prices. I also receive more from my sales than I do at any other store because I get a greater percentage. They have the nicest items, checked over well for cleanliness and quality. I just think that Moppet Togs is great all the way around. These are Moms helping Moms provide the best quality of clothes for the best prices,“ indicates Mrs. Green.

The Company also reports that setting up and managing the operations to move the volume of clothes, consignors and shoppers through the process is a logistical challenge. Since Moppet Togs is not a year-round business and only maintains a retail location for two (2) weeks twice a year, all of the clothes racks, telephone connections, internet connections, computers and other equipment have to be setup, utilized and then taken down in a very efficient manner.

To manage all of this, the Company relies on Jon Jones, co-founder and partner with Moppet Togs. Mr. Jones is a logistician with the Idaho National Army Guard and returned in 2005 from Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF), where he accounted for Army property."Staging Moppet Togs in such a short period of time is not an easy task," states Mr. Jones. "We build a store and then take it apart two times a year. However, we have gotten the process down to a science and will be able to address the infrastructure requirements created by the expected explosive growth in the coming years," continues Mr. Jones.Moppet Togs also strives to help families in need through Consignor donations. Each Consignor has the option to donate any items that do not sell to charity. Moppet Togs then takes those items to the charity that they have chosen for that sale. As an example, Moppet Togs will be donating to the City of Lights Charity in Boise for their Spring 2008 sale.

About Moppet Togs: Moppet Togs, LP is Boise, Idaho's premiere children's consignment sale. It is an upscale-resale event. Spring Sale April 10-12, 2008

It's hard to believe that its already time for the Moppet Togs Spring Sale. Seems like we just packed everything up. But, after a great Thanksgiving, Christmas and a few ski outings, we are ready to go again from April 10-12, 2008 at the same location as last year. It's the old Play it Again Sports location at 8001 West Fairview Avenue Boise, Idaho 83704 just east of the intersection of Fairview and Milwaukee. And, this year all the parking lot construction is done so we won't have to contend with any parking problems.

We had more then 15,000 items in the Fall 2007 sale and expect to have at least 20,000 items for this sale. So, its time to get your gently used kids clothes and associated items out and start entering items. If you have any questions, give us a call at 208-361-2012 and we will be more than pleased to help.

Also, make sure that you tell all of your friends to sign up as consignors this year. The more the merrier or something like that! Send them to our Website at http://www.moppettogs.com/ and they should be able to figure it out. If they don't want to consign, tell them to stop by and shop. The best time to stop by is Thursday morning at 9:00 am. For the Fall 2007 we had shoppers lining up at about 7:30 am and by 9:00 am we had over 100 shoppers in line. It's becoming one of the cool things to do in Boise.

Also, this year we plan to have Larry Gebert broadcasting live on Thursday or Friday again, a live radio station broadcast on Saturday and live Internet TV for most of the sale.
